OJC Technologies Seeking Software Developer

OJC Technologies (www.ojctech.com) is seeking a Software Developer to join our team in Urbana, Illinois building cutting-edge web experiences. OJC offers flexible hours, full benefits, and a stimulating work environment.

Do you have mad programming skills? The right candidate has at least 3 years of professional programming experience using Perl, PHP, relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL, and building software in a modern web environment: XHTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX. This developer will work with Drupal to help construct websites and create Drupal modules for custom functionality.

To be successful at OJC you will be gathering requirements, writing software design specifications, developing well documented, intelligent code, testing, giving assignments to other developers, and more. This is the job for you if you have a knack for how to make usable software interfaces, you have high standards for yourself building quality software and making clients happy, and you are self-motivated and work well without daily management.

Initially, your work will be web-based Perl and PHP, but OJC’s project portfolio gives you an opportunity to work with tools such as Ruby on Rails, .NET, Flash Actionscript and Flex, BSD kernel and driver development, iPhone apps and more.

OJC TECHNOLOGIES SOFTWARE DEVELOPER 

Responsibilities

Developing Web Software:
* Build database-driven web applications using Perl and PHP
* Create Drupal-based online communities, and expand and improve Drupal
* Work on project teams with visual designers, marketing experts, product managers and more
* Collaborate using SVN and CVS, bug trackers, instant messaging and OJC’s suite of project tools
* Continually learn new skills and share knowledge to improve team practices
* Gather customer requirements and envision creative solutions
* Design software by choosing tools, creating usable interfaces, building databases
* Give assignments to and receive assignments from other developers
* Oversee testing for browser compatibility, accessibility, and web standards
* Write documentation, manage a bug queue, and oversee code quality

Required skills

* Minimum of 3 years professional programming experience
* Expertise creating robust web-based and database-driven systems
* Experience using Perl, PHP, and MySQL required—Drupal, RoR, .NET a plus
* Effective organization and communication skills
* Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
* A meticulous, self-motivated, friendly, and trustworthy nature
