Lorene AndersonWriterLorene received her writing degree from Northland Environmental Liberal Arts College in Ashland WI. She has won the 2002 Outdoor Writers Association of America's Bodie McDowell scholarship for her essay and video work, and has produced articles for Northland's various student publications. After meeting OJC's design director, Danielle Chynoweth, at the Gesundheit! Institute in West Virginia, she began writing for OJC projects, including content for the Volition web site. For fun, Lorene has shot, directed, and produced several short documentary and art films in her 7 years of experience as an informally trained videographer. She has worked with Final Cut Pro, Vegas Video, and can dabble in Adobe Premiere. She has apprenticed with award-winning videographer Tom Selinski, and can figure her way around digital cameras of all kinds. Lorene also writes songs, short fiction, poetry, and essays when she makes time for that kind of thing. She loves Urbana and hopes to settle in for the long haul, eventually owning her own business as a feminist health educator.
