Matt SharkeyWeb & Animation ArtistMatt began programming database applications for his father's software company, but soon found deeper fulfillment designing brochures and theater programs in his hometown of East Peoria, IL. While still in high school, he served as a designer and video producer for Eastlight Theatre; there he shot and edited the 1993 documentary Metropolis, which chronicled the national premiere of Joseph Brooks' London stage adaptation of the classic film.
He spent three years at the University of Illinois, studying cinematography and graphic design, before transferring to Chicago's Columbia College, where he received his degree in film and video.
Self taught in web programming and design, he uses Flash, JavaScript, and video to create dynamic, absorbing Internet experiences. He joined OJC in 2000.
As an author and journalist, his work has appeared in The Octopus, Eclectica, and Generator 21.
