Putting Champaign County on the Map as a Vibrant Arts Community
40 North/88 West, The Champaign County Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Council, approached OJC with a request to fix problems with the design and functionality of their website. Their existing site had been donated to them in the early days of the organization, and while the design was very attractive, it lacked features and flexibility. 40 North staff also could not update content on their site. As a result, visitors viewed information as much as 5 months out of date. OJC built a new home page for the site entryway - creating a visual representation of the 40 North tagline, "Putting Champaign County on the Map". In addition, OJC made modifications to the page templates that created more room for text, made it easier for 40 North to edit images, and improved the functionality of the main navigation bar. Finally, OJC programmed the site so visitors could apply for membership, list themselves as a local artist, and register as a venue for the Boneyard Arts festival online. Using OJC's WebEasel software, 40 North has brought time sensitive content up-to-date and added new content. Thanks to WebEasel, 40North can edit, expand, and shrink all navigation bars, change the decorative art on every page to use their large store of artistic images, keep current arts events on their web calendar and easily edit all site text.
