"At a regional conference of measurement and evaluation professionals our EON product was hands-down the best, most functional, most attractive system for instructor evaluation anyone at the conference had seen."

Integrating complex university data systems

CLIENT

The University of Illinois Office of Instructional Resources Division of Measurement and Evaluation

CHALLENGE

The University of Illinois wanted an online version of their paper-based Instructor and Course Evaluation System (ICES). The new application would have to interface with a number of legacy university systems in order to get class enrollment data and authenticate users with their university NetID. And the application had to be flexible to handle multiple question types and different departmental procedures.

SOLUTION

OJC designed the system for maximum flexibility. Many different kinds of questions may be used, instructors have control over who sees responses, and evaluation periods are configurable for any university course. Instructors easily browse the question banks to design an evaluation form tailored to the classes they teach and their own performance goals. Email is automatically sent to instructors, students, and administrators over the course of a given semester or session inviting them to perform their appropriate roles in designing, filling out, and reviewing evaluations.
