CLIENT

Music Browser Inc. (MBI) is a music technology company focused on developing interactive music preview and listening products.

CHALLENGE

Shortly after founding MBI, the small group of founding entrepreneurs brought their product idea to OJC. The business plan was to build kiosks with touchscreens and headsets for music preview in record stores. The product would have to have fast, efficient multimedia response as well as a vibrant and intuitive interface.

SOLUTION

OJC created screen mockups, helped select a programming environment, created a prototype, and developed the prototype into a finished product called the Music Republic. OJC usability engineers iteratively tested and improved both physical (screen, mouse, and headset) and graphical (image, buttons) aspects of the user interface. OJC selected network protocols and built a system for updating kiosk content (songs, images, movies, and text) with the latest music releases.
